SUSTAINING THE FAMILY TRADITION

After the passing of Robert Jr. (Ickey), the future of the legacy he continued that was established by Robert (R.T.) Sr. became uncertain. The business was set to close indefinitely. At this pivotal moment, Marshia Ferguson stepped up to continue the legacy started by her grandfather and continued by her uncle, by enrolling in Mortuary School to carry on the family's proud tradition. As the new owner and managing partner of what is now known as Ferguson Mortuary, Marshia brings fresh energy and innovative services to meet the evolving needs of the community, ensuring that dignified funeral services remain a hallmark for years to come.

Like her grandfather and uncle, Marshia possess an entrepreneurial spirit. Her expertise in Human Resources, Operations, and her legal background enables her not only to oversee Ferguson Mortuary, but also to manage her real estate firm, operate a business consulting company, and assist in managing her grandparents' estate.

Today, Ferguson Mortuary stands as a testament to the vision and values of its founding forefathers, Robert (R.T.) Ferguson, Sr. and Robert (Ickey) Ferguson, Jr. The third generation of the Ferguson family continues to uphold their legacy, ensuring that every individual and family receives the compassionate care and dignified service that have been the defining qualities of the Ferguson tradition for over seven decades. Like her grandfather and uncle, Marshia has vowed never to turn away a family in need. She is committed to ensuring that each family can lay their loved one to rest with grace and dignity.

With a resolute commitment to honoring traditions while embracing the future, Ferguson Mortuary looks ahead to continuing its service to the community for years to come, guided by the enduring principles of empathy, respect, and excellence upon which the Ferguson name was built.

To be able to do is
SKILL. To see that it gets done RIGHT is service.
To serve every family within its means is
