Rosie Mae Jackson departed this life on July 19, 2025, at her son’s residence in Woodland Hills, California.
Rosie was born to the parentage of the late J.C. and Ida Mae Jackson on November 5, 1943. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Edna Mae Barns, Early Jackson, and Sarah Jackson.
Rosie was a faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Abbeville, GA. She was educated throughout the Excelsior School System. Known for her strong work ethic and dependability, Rosie was never afraid of hard work. She worked many of her days picking peas, pecans, and strawberries for various owners across Wilcox County. Rosie enjoyed spending time with family and friends every chance she had.
Rosie leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: Jessie Coley of Rochelle, GA and Ulysses Jackson (Dee) of Woodland Hills, CA; a daughter/granddaughter, Mikesha Jackson of Stone Mountain, GA; five sisters: Ida Lue Coley, Yvonne Jackson, and Mary Ann Kellom, all of Rochelle, GA; Josephine Jackson and Gladys Reid of Abbeville, GA; five brothers: Otis Jackson Sr., Willie Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, and Sammy Jackson, all of Rochelle, GA, and Joe Jackson of Cochran, GA.
Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Jessie Roberts, Erica Roberts, Jessica Cunningham (Wayne), Sherry McCormick (Monilitoe), Keiana Jackson, Keenon Jackson, and Kameron Jackson; her great-grandchildren: Khylar Jackson, Dayzon Johnson Jr., Zion Johnson, Kassidy Roberts, Ganiya Roberts, Preonna Roberts, Tyyon Roberts, Keyundra Marshall, Lenny Marshall Jr., and Tyliyah Benjamin; and her great-great-grandchildren: Nolan Williams and Kessiah Roberts. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Rosie also shared a special bond with devoted friends: Adel Lawson, Julia Mae Roberts, Cindy Williams, Robert Earl Williams Sr., Stanley Copeland, Tilley Copeland, and Scotty McGuinty.
Her life was a testament of faith, love, and resilience, and her memory will forever live in the hearts of those she touched.
