Ray began his life on July 3, 1966, in Rochelle, GA. A proud native of Wilcox County, Ray spent his early years surrounded by family, friends, and the close-knit community he loved. Known for his warm spirit and easygoing nature, Ray had a way of bringing laughter and joy to those around him.
Ray was educated in the Wilcox County School System and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1984. Following high school, he obtained his CDL and became an over-the-road truck driver. Ray enjoyed playing the Georgia Lottery and cheering on his favorite teams, the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Ray was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Hill. He leave his loving memories to be cherished by his dearly beloved parents, Daisy and Floyd Patterson of Rochelle, GA; four daughters, Creschenda (Shawn) Brown-Mahaffey, Breanna (Leonard) Early Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Tameka Hill, and Shelia Howard of Milwaukee, WI; one son, Zyterrious Hudson of Cordele, GA; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one uncle, Charles Hill of Rochester, NY.
In addition to a host of sorrowing family members and friends, Ray also leaves to cherish his memory several special cousins: Jessica Rogers, Willie Rogers Jr., Jaden Rogers, Sherry McCormick, JoAnn Wilcox, and Travis Cheese, all of Rochelle, GA; Queenie Ferguson of Decatur, GA; Charles Hill Jr. of CA; Donnie Hill of Ft. Pierce, FL; and Jeffery Hill, Fannie Mae Woods, Larry Woods, and Rick Hill, all of Rochester, NY. He also leaves several cherished friends who were very dear to him: Tony Hope of Augusta, GA; Kenneth Lawson of St. Louis, MO; Al Childs, Deszi Tisdol, Stanley Ferguson Sr., Christopher Marshall, Leroy Coley, and James Martin, all of Rochelle, GA and Hanna Howard of Milwaukee, WI.
Ray’s life was a beautiful reflection of love and laughter, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love and memories he shared will remain forever cherished.
