Gloria Jean Hunt began her earthly journey on January 17, 1954. She was born in Rochelle, GA, to the parentage of the late Ulysses and Willie Geneva Hunt. Gloria was the middle of three children born to this union and was preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Mamie Butts.

Gloria was educated in the Wilcox County School System and graduated from Excelsior High School with the Class of 1971. After graduating, Gloria found many things she was fond of. Her compassion for helping others ultimately led her into the healthcare field, where she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked faithfully in this role until a back injury required her to step away from her duties. Even though Gloria was down due to this, she was not going to let it count her out. She remained resilient and determined. Recognizing that the world was changing, she embraced it and furthered her education by pursuing certificates in Computer Information and Customer Service.

A faithful member of Evergreen Baptist Church since her youth, Gloria will always be remembered for her radiant smile and quirky sense of humor. She was never afraid to ask the questions others wouldn’t, earning her the affectionate title of the “inquisitive” sister. Gloria found joy in the simple things—talking on the phone, shopping, fellowshipping with family and friends—and she especially looked forward to her annual visit to the Perry Fair.

On May 26, 2025, in the comfort of her home, Gloria peacefully transitioned from her earthly body to be with the Lord. In addition to her parents and sister, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Mr. Lorenzo Hunt Sr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sons, Crun (Martha) Hunt of Hawkinsville, Georgia, and Kerji Hunt of Rochelle, Georgia; two brothers, Kervin Hunt of Rochelle, Georgia and Tony (Geneva) Rawls of Abbeville, Georgia; five grandchildren, Lorenzo Hunt Jr., Martez Robinson, Keyana Hunt, Amari’ Hunt and Kadence Hunt; one great-grandson, Lorenzo Hunt III; one brother-in-law, Ossie B. Butts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and grieving friends.

Gloria’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
