The earthly journey of Floyd Patterson began on February 28, 1945, in Greenville, Alabama to the parentage of the late Elijah Marshall Sr. and Martha Jones. He transitioned to his eternal home on April 8, 2026.
Floyd was educated in the Charlton County School System. He dedicated many years of his life working in the shipyards and railroads before retiring. Floyd gave his life to God and was a devoted member of Pentecostal Full Gospel Crusade Church. He enjoyed being around his loved ones and valued the time he spent with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Marshall Sr. and Martha Jones; his daughter, Sharon Hill; his son, Ray Hill; his brother, Elijah Marshall Jr.; and his sister, Ruby Lee Marshall Daniels.
His memory will be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Daisy Patterson of Rochelle, Georgia; four granddaughters: Creschenda (Shawn) Brown-Mahaffey, Breanna (Leonard) Early Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida, Tameka Hill, and Shelia Howard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one grandson, Zyterrious Hudson of Cordele, Georgia; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters: Mary Lee (Richard) Troutman and Geneva Howard, both of Rochelle, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Charles Hill of Rochester, New York; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Floyd also leaves to cherish his memory his special nieces, Sherry McCormick and Jessica Rogers, and his special nephews, Willie Rogers Jr. and Jaden Rogers, all of Rochelle, Georgia.
His life reflected love, dedication, and faith, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
