The youngest of nine children, Ms. Vivian Gordon was born on April 7, 1950, to the late Willis J. Gordon Sr. and Rosebud Laster-Gordon. Vivian was called to her heavenly home on March 7, 2025, in Griffin, Georgia.

Vivian was educated in the Decatur County school system and graduated from Hutto High School in the class of 1968. She was also a 1970 graduate of Lincoln Business College.

Vivian accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church under

the leadership of Reverend Clifford Burns. Throughout her spiritual journey, she was an active member, serving the Lord faithfully as the Director of the Mount Nebo Senior Choir, Program Coordinator for the Youth Ministry, and Secretary of the First Sunday Willing Workers Choir Union for many years.

Vivian, affectionately called “Aunt Bo-Bee,” had a passion for singing. She was known as one of the beloved Gordon sisters, and her voice was cherished by many. Vivian believed in giving God her best, and she was known for her punctuality and commitment—especially when it came to church and choir practices. She also had a heart for helping young children, making sure they stayed on the right path. She was firm about proper attire for church and emphasized the importance of singing with dedication.

Vivian worked for the Decatur County School System at West Bainbridge Elementary School for 43 years before retiring.

Her favorite hobbies included planting flowers, watching TV, and marathon shopping with her sisters. However, when you went shopping with them, you could expect to be there for a while!

Vivian was preceded in death by her sisters Eva Lee McDowell and Evorne Gordon, and her brothers Fletcher Wallace, Paul Gordon Sr., Dave Moses Sr., Willis J. Gordon Jr., Arthur Gordon, and her daughter Sharon Walker.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Minister Eric D. Gordon (Evangelist Sharon); grandchildren Eric S. Gordon, Simone E. Grier (Kevin), and Takiya Monroe; her daughter Karen Gordon and grandchildren Aaron Burrington (Brittany), Fantasia Clark, JaMichael Clark (Kiyra), and Al’lexia Hodge (Ezekiel); her late daughter’s children, Alex Gordon, Victoria Wimberly, Jerome Wimberly, and Carrington Wimberly; her daughter Erica Gordon (Anthony) and grandchildren Haven Kinder, Ethan Williams, and Makaylin Middleton; her daughter Kayla King (Richard) and grandchildren Jaylin King, Jerzee King, Richard King Jr., Jaliyah King, and Justice King. She is also survived by two sisters, Lillian Gordon and LaWanda Blackmon, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and a special friend.
